CTC to study farm hazardous waste

CTC have been commissioned by the EPA (as part of its work under the National Waste Prevention Programme and to implement the National Hazardous Waste Management Plan) to aid an increased understanding of the types and amounts of hazardous waste generated on farms. CTC will also lay the groundwork for the establishment of strategies that will contribute to the prevention, minimisation and suitable treatment of farm hazardous waste.

Particular emphasis will be placed on waste agri-chemical containers, veterinary waste and sheep-dip waste.  The work will be carried out in 2009.

Project partners are Martin & Rea (Agricultural Consultants), Blarney Veterinary Clinic and Monaghan County Council.
