epaClean Technology Centre (CTC) at Cork Institute of Technology has been commissioned by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to carry out a Desktop Study: Roadmap for a National Resource Efficiency Plan for Ireland. This study will be carried out in 2012 under the aegis of the EPA’s STRIVE Research Programme 2007-2013.

The aim of this project is to prepare a report/roadmap which would aid the implementation of a national resource efficiency plan in support of the Resource-Efficient Europe initiative. Such a national plan will help to support, harmonise and enhance the many worthwhile resource-efficient policies, programmes and actions already in place.

With this objective in mind, CTC would like to engage with all the main stakeholders and practitioners of resource efficiency in Ireland to discuss the main issues of interest and concern to them. CTC would like to get a more detailed picture of the main topics of relevance and to allow those involved in resource efficiency to voice their views and opinions.
