CTC to aid CIT’s green campus programme

Cork Institute of Technology (with support from the Clean Technology Centre) has acquired grant aid to help green the Institute in a major environmental project.

This grant aid is from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of its Cleaner Greener Production Programme (CGPP) to support business and enterprise in Ireland to improve its environmental performance.

CTC will help to establish a sustainable campus programme at CIT on several strands. It is an integrated programme, with the following objectives:

  • Reduce water use
  • Reduce electricity use
  • Reduce natural gas use
  • Reduce usage of other raw materials
  • Reduce waste generated
  • Involve and educate staff and students
