Business representatives from across Kerry, Clare and Limerick attended the inaugural regional Green Failte Award event, which honoured those in the hospitality sector that have demonstrated a commitment to quality and service in the area of environmental protection.
Three Limerick hotels were among 11 businesses presented with Green Fáilte Awards in Adare Manor Hotel, Limerick. These included Adare Manor, Castletroy Park Hotel and Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel in Adare, each received Bronze Awards for their commitment to the awards scheme.
Two businesses Dromoland Castle, Co. Clare and The Mooring Guesthouse Co. Kerry received a Silver Awards; the highest accolade presented this year. Other Kerry winners included,Dingle Skellig Hotel, The River Island Hotel, The Plaza, Towers and Avenue hotels in Killarney.
The Green Fáilte Award is Ireland’s first environmental award scheme for the hospitality sector. Clean Technology Centre and Hospitality Solutions Consulting (HSC) Ltd coordinate the scheme, in conjunction with the Limerick Clare Kerry Regional Waste Management Office.
