The Clean Technology Centre has carried out a desktop study of aggregate and construction and demolition waste (CDW) recovery, for Cork County Council.

The study analysed the management practices in UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France all of whom have set end-of-waste (EOW) criteria in their national laws.

CTC detailed the quantity of CDW in each county distinguishing between soil and stone and other CDW (inert /non-inert hazardous/non-hazardous).

CTC also described the operating procedures and practices, especially in relation to end-of-waste (EOW) criteria and researched the types of recycled materials and locations and their specific used.

CTC also reported on any other relevant issues about CDW recovery for Ireland.
